Botanical Garden

The Government Botanical Garden is one of the top tourist places to visit in Ooty. Doddabetta Peak

Doddabetta is the highest peak in the Nilgiris at a height of 2637 meters (8652 feet). At the top, there is a watch tower with a telescope to enjoy panoramic views of the hill. During a clear sky, even Coimbatore will be visible through the telescope. You can drive up to the entrance from where the top is a 5-minute walk and there is also plenty of stalls including food stalls.

Rose Garden

One of the main tourist places in Ooty is the Rose Garden. This garden is one of the largest rose gardens in India, with a spread over 4 hectares of land, and has a wide collection of 20000 varieties of roses.

Nilgiri Mountain Railway

Nilgiri Mountain Railway is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It was constructed during British rule in India. You can enjoy a toy train ride by taking a train from Mettupalayam at 7.10 am and travel to Ooty by crossing stations like Coonoor, Wellington, Aruvankadu, Ketti, and Lovedale.

The scenic route passes through tunnels, bridges, and beautiful valleys, making it an excellent experience that you cannot miss. The train again departs from Ooty at 2 pm and reaches Mettupalayam at 5.35 pm. You can easily book your tickets in advance from the Indian Railways booking website.

Tea Factory and Tea Museum

Ooty is famous for its tea. A visit to the tea estate and museum will give you an idea about the process of tea-making. Avalanche Lake
